ABOUT THE ARTIST
ELIZABETH MCCOY
Dallas-Fort Worth based artist, Elizabeth McCoy, has been immersed in the world of art since her childhood. Born to a classically trained artist mother and a self-taught musician father, her creative roots run deep. Elizabeth's fascination with the beauty and diversity of the natural world led her to spend countless hours exploring the great outdoors.
After over a decade as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Elizabeth's artistic passion was reignited during quarantine as she spent time at home with her two young children. Drawing inspiration from her love of nature, she incorporated various nature-centric homeschool programs, allowing her family to learn and create art through the use of organic materials found in their surroundings.
Elizabeth's artistic journey began with the creation of intricate botanical landscapes and the crafting of whimsical creatures. As her skills and vision evolved, she transitioned to larger, more elaborate pieces, often sourcing materials exclusively from a single location. Her favorite botanicals include buttercups collected near her North Texas residence and majestic maple leaves gathered in the woods surrounding her family home in Maine. Elizabeth aims to share this centuries-old art form, paying tribute to the resilience and splendor of wildflowers while showcasing their enduring beauty.
